Before you sign a contract or pay an invoice, three checks often do the job. First, find the business by name, enterprise number or VAT number. Then, check its status and legal form. Finally, compare the registered office with the address on your documents.
The scanner speeds up the first step: point the camera at an invoice or a business card, and the app reads the VAT number without any retyping.
In Belgium, the BCE number has ten digits and identifies the enterprise. The VAT number reuses that same number with the BE prefix, so the search accepts both formats.
An establishment unit matches a place of business, such as a shop or an office, with its own number. The business record lists them all, which keeps you from mistaking a branch for the registered office.
